The new album consists primarily of original music composed or co-authored by Julia, with a little help from musical colleagues and friends through the years. A few covers are intermingled for texture, including a blockbuster dance version of “One Night Only,” a ballad she performed as Effie in Dreamgirls on Broadway. Just as “One Night Only” marked Effie’s triumphant return to the recording studio, Julia’s updated rendition symbolizes the next stage of her amazing career – taking her music to the masses, performing on the world stage.
